Darwin Canete, a prosecutor from Caloocan, said that the mainstream media's bias towards President Benigno Aquino III and the entire Aquino family is apprent by their coverage of any scandal relating to the said personalities.

This was after the media published their coverage of the Senate hearing on Dengvaxia.

"Mainstream media automatically tiptoes their coverage of any scandal linked to Noynoy and his family. That blindspot does so much to conceal so many sins against the country. The coverage of the Senate hearing on the dengue vaccine is a case in point," Canete said.

He said that the broadcast was "scant" despite the fact that a potential 800,000 children are at risk.

Dengvaxia, a Dengue vaccine was administered to 733,000 schoolchildren under the orders of President Benigno Aquino III in 2016.

"The few ones even try to either shift the blame, downplay the issue or absolve Noynoy. This is why Philippine media cannot be trusted," the prosecutor alleged, without substantiating the claim.

During the Senate Hearing, French drug-maker Sanofi Pasteur assured Filipinos that Dengvaxia continues to be safe, despite a recent admission that the drug may be harmful when administered to individuals not previously infected with dengue.

"We at Sanofi assure Filipinos that Dengvaxia continues to be a safe and efficacious vaccine," said Sanofi's Thomas Triomphe, stressing that the vaccine was a product of 20 years of rigorous development.

Further, the Department of Health will be implementing heightened surveillance of all the children who were administered the controversial dengue vaccine Dengvaxia.

The Department of Justice is also already investigating on the issue.
