Priest jailed for booking minor is also a gun owner

Marikina police reports that Msgr. Arnel F. Lagarejos who was recently arrested for allegedly “booking” the services of a 13-year-old girl is a gun owner who had once used the gun to threaten the minor.

Marikina Police chief Senior Superintendent Roger Quesada disclosed that the 13-year-old reported Lagarejos as having used the gun to prevent her from meeting or getting booked by other male customers.

If Lagarejos is found to not possess papers for the gun he owns, he may be filed with illegal possession of firearms, as Quesada explained.

Initial reports have already relayed that the priest legally owns the gun, however it is within the prosecutor’s discretion as to whether additional charges will be filed against Lagarejos for this recent development in the case.

Besides Lagarejos, the girl’s 16-year-old pimp is also in custody at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) after allegedly receiving Php 500 from the priest for being the middleperson.
